The Canadian Black Metal scene is marked by striking diversity, with Quebec standing apart as bands there not only sing in French but also draw heavily from French culture.

Ulric van Darek, with his project Baltave, channels the spirit of the wandering street musicians of old France, who once traveled from town to town performing ballads of historic events and everyday tales. 

With his raw and minimalist style, he has already self-released three demos that quickly gained underground attention.

Now, for the very first time, a compilation personally curated by Ulric himself will be unleashed — available this autumn on CD.
