Darker Than Black Records has been operating as a record label, with some interruptions, since 1994—over 30 years!
For a long time, we’ve been planning a sampler featuring exclusive songs from bands we currently work with or have collaborated with in the past.
This project aims not only to highlight the deep connection between the artists and their patron, which often goes beyond a mere business relationship, but also to convey the philosophy that drives the label and the stories behind the development of D.T.B. Records.
The visual design will be handled by the remarkable Transylvanian painter Luciana Nedelea, with whom we’ve worked multiple times.
Luciana perfectly captures and reflects the aesthetic and themes present in our releases. The title of this release is “Mala tempora currunt, sed peiora parantur”, an ancient phrase used to describe times of crisis.
However, D.T.B. Records is far from being in a crisis—on the contrary, the harder and darker the times, the better and more intense the Black Metal we release!
Confirmed artists thus far: Pantheon, Gjendød, LIK, Hadak Ura, Kyokujitsushou with exclusive tracks. More updates coming as soon as they are available!
This compilation will be released as limited CD and LP in 2026, most likely.
